Job description

  • Partner with department leaders to define reporting requirements, KPIs, and analytics solutions that improve performance.
  • Translate business questions into data models, analytical frameworks, and clear reporting strategies.
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and automated reports using BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze data across multiple systems.
  • Create visualizations and reporting tools that allow business leaders to make confident, data-driven decisions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the enterprise data warehouse and data dictionary.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy by validating data sources, identifying anomalies, and collaborating with IT and data engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Help establish best practices for data governance, reporting standards, and analytics frameworks across the organization.
  • Work closely with business units to interpret data and provide clear explanations of insights and trends.
  • Participate in agile team ceremonies, solution design discussions, and technical planning sessions.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues on interpreting dashboards and analytics tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience translating complex business requirements into actionable data models and reports, validating data integrity, and maintaining comprehensive data dictionaries.
  • Strong experience writing advanced SQL queries and working with relational databases.
  • Experience building dashboards and visualizations with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
  • Proficiency in Excel (Power Query, macros, advanced formulas).
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Master’s degree or advanced data analytics certifications preferred.
  • Experience analyzing data within Financial Institutions or the banking sector.
  • Experience with Python or R for statistical analysis preferred.
  • Experience within financial services or credit unions.

Responsible for compliance of all Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Bribery Act, NCUA Privacy Regulations, Reg B, Reg Z, Reg DD, Reg E, Reg CC, Service Members Civil Relief, and FCRA/FACTA. Required to attend initial and ongoing annual Bank Secrecy Act training.
