Job description

We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on Fleet Support Engineer to help maintain the operational uptime of an autonomous vehicle fleet.

This is a Tier 2 escalation role responsible for diagnosing complex hardware and software issues, supporting field technicians, interpreting vehicle logs and electrical schematics, restoring vehicles to service, and performing root-cause analysis., * Serve as the primary escalation point for technicians experiencing real-time fleet issues.

  • Diagnose hardware, software, electrical, sensor, hydraulic, networking, and vehicle-system concerns.
  • Restore vehicle uptime quickly while capturing information needed for root-cause analysis.
  • Troubleshoot perception sensors, including LiDAR, radar, cameras, and related components.
  • Perform hardware bring-up, sensor validation, calibration checks, and data-integrity verification.
  • Interpret vehicle logs, fleet data, electrical schematics, connector views, and pinouts.
  • Safely diagnose low- and high-voltage circuits using appropriate tools and procedures.
  • Use Unified Diagnostic Services and other vehicle-diagnostic systems.
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, playbooks, and technician knowledge resources.
  • Establish diagnostic procedures that reduce mean time to repair.
  • Partner with engineering and design teams to improve diagnostic tooling and issue detection.
  • Implement fleet-wide countermeasures following field recoveries or recurring failures.
  • Define and capture data required to validate issue resolution.
  • Occasionally travel within the United States to support other operational locations.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has at least six years of experience troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems within autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, aerospace, military, aircraft, transportation, or another advanced technical environment. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required., * Minimum six years of relevant technical experience in autonomous vehicles, EVs, aerospace, aircraft, military systems, transportation, or complex electromechanical systems.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience troubleshooting perception systems and vehicle sensors.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and software system architecture.
  • Experience with low- and high-voltage circuits and safe electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience with UDS, wiring diagrams, connector end views, and pinouts.
  • Ability to interpret system logs and narrow failures to the component level.
  • Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to support technicians during high-pressure, time-sensitive fleet issues.
  • Strong technical documentation and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Autonomous vehicle or electric vehicle experience.
  • Linux troubleshooting and Python programming experience.
  • Experience processing fleet-level data.
  • Knowledge of networking, TCP, and socket programming.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems.
  • Experience remotely supporting vehicle troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or technical knowledge-management systems.
  • Military aircraft, helicopter, satellite, or advanced field-engineering background.

Pay: $86.25 per hour Employment Type: Full-time contract Work Environment: 100% onsite

Available Schedules

  • Sunday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
  • Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Candidates must also have flexibility to work occasional nights, weekends, or overtime with advance notice.
