Job description

We are seeking an experienced Fuel Systems Program Chief (PC) / Sub-System Technical Lead (SSTL) to lead the engineering, development, and launch of complete automotive fuel systems across multiple vehicle programs.

This individual serves as the technical leader responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, suppliers, manufacturing, and program management to ensure fuel systems meet performance, quality, cost, timing, weight, and manufacturing objectives from concept through production.

Responsibilities

Lead complete fuel system development including:

  • Fuel tanks
  • Fuel Delivery Modules (FDM)
  • Fuel lines
  • EVAP systems
  • Fuel caps/capless systems
  • Canisters
  • Sensors
  • Valves
  • Filters
  • Brackets and mounting hardware

Manage programs throughout the complete product lifecycle:

  • Concept development
  • Packaging studies
  • Prototype development
  • Supplier sourcing
  • Tooling kickoff
  • Design validation
  • Vehicle launch
  • Production support
  • Engineering changes
  • Cost optimization
  • Warranty improvements

Partner closely with:

  • Vehicle Engineering
  • Program Management
  • Manufacturing
  • Purchasing
  • Suppliers
  • Quality
  • Assembly Plants

Drive technical issue resolution while maintaining:

  • Cost targets
  • Weight targets
  • Launch timing
  • Vehicle performance
  • Product quality

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ years of automotive Fuel Systems engineering experience
  • OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Fuel tanks
  • Fuel delivery modules
  • EVAP systems
  • Fuel lines
  • Sensors
  • Valves
  • Experience leading suppliers
  • Program management experience
  • DFMEA
  • DVP&R
  • Automotive packaging
  • Manufacturing processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to influence without direct authority
