Job description

Would you like to help shape secure, practical technology solutions that support meaningful digital transformation? As a Security Architect within Strategic Digital Solutions, you’ll design, review and assure secure technical solutions across applications, platforms, networks, cloud services and supporting infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to influence secure-by-design solutions that meet business, regulatory and operational requirements while supporting large-scale transformation programmes. You’ll work alongside a broad range of technical specialists, providing security architecture leadership and helping teams translate risk, threat and policy requirements into practical technical designs and standards. We can offer great career progression opportunities, ability to be based anywhere across the UK, benefits which you can flex to meet your needs, and training and development opportunities. What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing and reviewing end-to-end security architectures across applications, cloud platforms, identity services and networked infrastructure.
  • Providing technical assurance for solution designs, design patterns, platform baselines and implementation proposals.
  • Assessing security implications across applications, network topology, identity, data protection, integration patterns and hosting models.
  • Developing and maintaining security standards, principles, patterns and reference architectures.
  • Embedding secure-by-design and DevSecOps practices throughout the delivery lifecycle, including secure coding, software supply chain security and continuous integration and continuous delivery controls.
  • Applying risk-based decision making to communicate design risks, attack paths, compensating controls and residual risks to stakeholders.

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong security architecture capability with experience designing and assuring secure technical solutions across applications, platforms, networks, cloud services and infrastructure.
  • Hands-on technical understanding of software development, networking, cloud platforms, identity services and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Experience assessing technical designs, solution options, hosting models, integration patterns, data protection requirements and identity architectures.
  • Knowledge of secure development practices including threat modelling, code assurance, security testing, infrastructure-as-code governance, application programming interface security and secrets management.
  • Understanding of network and infrastructure security, including segmentation, trust boundaries, remote access, gateway security and zero trust principles.
  • Ability to translate security policies, threat intelligence and risk requirements into practical technical controls and architecture decisions.
