Job description

The Test Engineer responsible for testing services delivering across the public sector in the UK. We deliver a wide variety of projects across multiple technology platforms into numerous business areas. It is a fast paced and challenging environment to work within. What you’ll do

· Implementation and co-ordination of the End-to-End Assurance and Test Strategy for the Performance and Volume Testing (PVT) stage of the systems development life cycle.

· Provision of technical direction and governance (for PVT).

· Managing test deliverables, project budgets, planning, forecasting and progress reporting.

· Analysing new work and changes to existing scope and schedules to estimate the effort needed and to determine people and test environment requirements.

· Producing a test plan for PVT for each CDS release.

· Creating detailed test schedules, including identifying the dependencies on other areas.

· Ensuring all subordinate test documentation (e.g. test scripts) is produced by the appropriate individual and reviewed.

· Work with the Development teams to review and assure that their approach for non-functional testing is appropriate and meeting the specified non-functional requirements.

· Define and manage appropriate Quality Gates of Development deliveries into PVT.

· Planning and managing test effort for the PVT activities including co-ordination with external teams and attending checkpoint meetings.

· Feed appropriate information into Non-Functional Test completion reports for each CDS release.

· Lead retrospectives following every team sprint; suggest and implement resulting process improvements.

· Take part in retrospectives following key programme milestones; suggest and implement resulting process improvements.

· Report progress, blockers and escalations to the Programme Non-Functional Test Manager.

Requirements

· Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

· Good understanding of agile delivery lifecycles

· Excellent Management of Schedules and Milestones

· Collaborative working across multiple 3rd Parties and Suppliers essential

· Strong Influencing skills

· Strong Team Building skills

· Risk Management

· Understanding of Risk Based Testing (RBT) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)

· Excellent reporting skills

· Implement and manage “Go to Green” remedial plans

· ISTQB Advanced Test Management certified
