Job description

The Operations and Integration Manager reports to the Director of Operations and Integration and shares responsibility for concurrent enterprise initiatives, including practice expansions and integrations, MIPS performance, inventory management, patient retention, and clinical systems optimization. This role partners closely with practice leadership, corporate departments, vendors, and external stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives, ensuring key milestones and timelines are met., Practice Integration & Expansion

  • Share ownership of concurrent integration projects, including expansions, consolidations, and MSO transitions, to ensure alignment with company strategy post-acquisition.
  • Translate integration strategy into operational plans with defined milestones, ownership, and timelines; analyze due diligence materials to identify priority action items.
  • Assess acquired practices’ processes and workflows to identify gaps, redundancies, and risks; lead post-close integration visits and coordinate onboarding logistics.
  • Serve as liaison to HR, IT, Finance, and Data teams on integration efforts, prioritizing needs and supporting rollout of operational tools and systems.

Operational & Clinical Support

  • Execute and monitor standardized operational workflows and best practices across practices; identify workflow gaps and process improvement opportunities.
  • Provide analytical support to practices and departments to improve efficiency, patient experience, and performance.

MIPS & Regulatory Compliance

  • Support coordination of MIPS reporting, monthly performance reviews, and scorecard preparation across practices.
  • Partner with MIPS consultants and practice staff to close performance gaps; develop related educational materials and process documentation.
  • Monitor deadlines and documentation requirements for regulatory programs.

Inventory & Vendor Management

  • Support inventory initiatives by tracking trends, resolving discrepancies, and promoting standardization across practices.
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate on supply chain, ordering, and performance issues.

Patient Retention & Analytics

  • Analyze operational and patient data to identify trends and drive retention initiatives through reporting and workflow analysis.
  • Develop dashboards and presentations tracking KPIs for operational efficiency, patient experience, financial performance, and integration outcomes.

Project Management

  • Build and maintain project tracking tools, templates, and executive reporting for integration and operational initiatives.
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent projects, escalating risks as needed; prepare documentation, agendas, and status updates.
  • Communicate with physicians, executives, and staff to foster alignment throughout integration and operational initiatives.
  • Support enterprise-wide revenue optimization and efficiency efforts; perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Integrations and Operations.

Requirements

The role requires strong practice management expertise to help lead seamless integration of newly acquired practices and implement performance improvements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, accountable, analytical, and skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment., * Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 5+ years of healthcare operations experience with demonstrated practice integration, MSO, or PE-backed organization experience; retina/ophthalmology preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of practice management: RCM, credentialing, budgeting, clinic/ASC operations, inventory management, MIPS, IT, HR, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex operational or integration initiatives, including scoping, timelines, and resourcing.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required; Smartsheet or similar PM tools preferred; EMR/practice management system experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel as needed (approximately 10-25%).

  • Clinical knowledge: Strong understanding of ophthalmology/retina workflows, physician practice operations, and patient flow.
  • Project & integration management: Advanced ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, define scope and timelines, and maintain follow-through in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical: Strong problem-solving skills; advanced Excel for reporting, formulas, and dashboards; ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and alignment across clinical, operational, and executive teams; comfortable collaborating with peer managers on shared initiatives.
  • Professionalism: Sound judgment, adaptability, and discretion; able to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
