Job description
We are recruiting to fill a Senior System Administrator position to installs, maintains, and monitors the operation of the organization’s operating systems, servers, storage and virtual infrastructure. The position participates in strategic planning efforts, capacity planning, functional and technical design of enterprise systems, and resolution of complex problems. The Senior System Administrator works with a high level of independence and can function as a team lead. Performs the highest level of troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs/fixes for hardware and software related problems. Responsibilities - What you’ll do
- Designs, writes, maintains, documents and tests computer systems and configurations of moderate complexity and clearly defined segments of more complex configuration programs
- Assists in ensuring 24/7 availability of services and infrastructure
- Responds to after-hours emergencies; lead the mitigation and resolution processes
- Monitors and audits the health and availability of OSCA systems
- Responds to questions from customers needing assistance; identifies problem source and resolves problems; refers and discusses problems with supervisor or other designated contacts, as appropriate
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with at least 15 hours in computer science or computer information systems and 3 years of experience in computer programming, systems analysis and design, network design and configuration, or work with primary responsibility for the configuration of computer hardware or software in a mainframe, midrange and computer environment or with installation and configuration of operation systems, network design and configuration, installing and configuring software applications, identifying and resolving customer problems and working with complex hardware or software systems in a mainframe, midrange or computer environment
Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education., * Physical ability to perform the job include carrying, standing, and lifting computer equipment
- Considerable knowledge of the principles of computer programming and systems analysis, design, testing and documentation
- Extensive knowledge of the general operating principles and capabilities of computer hardware and software
- Considerable knowledge of computer networking and telecommunications
- Extensive knowledge of computer operating systems
- Considerable knowledge of database management systems
