Job description
The information systems technologist performs routine entry-level activities in the areas of application/program development and computer system support for end users, including program debugging, server maintenance, information system management for software applications, problem diagnosis/resolution, and communications. Responsibilities are performed under direct supervision.

As you continue to learn, acquire new skills, and gain experience, you can be promoted to a higher-level position. Responsibilities - What you’ll do
What you’ll do:
- Provides IT support to end-users over the phone and in person relative to hardware and software issues; analyzes, diagnoses and resolves issues.
- Install, maintain, and update software applications, operating systems, computer hardware, peripherals, and other technology resources.
- Collaborates with department personnel to plan and recommend solutions for current and future application needs and system compatibility.
- Create and maintain documentation such as user guides, installation procedures, troubleshooting instructions, and technical/testing materials.
- Support MoDOT conferences and events by assisting with IT-related needs including hardware setup, audio/visual equipment, and on-site technical troubleshooting.
Requirements
- 60 credit hours toward a related Bachelor’s Degree, OR
- Associate’s Degree: Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field, OR
- High School Diploma or GED/HiSET, and two years of experience in computer systems, repairs, and operations.
Special Working Conditions/Job Characteristics:
- Job requires occasional, statewide, overnight travel; a valid driver’s license is required.
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to move and transport equipment as needed.
- Participates in rotating weekly on-call support approximately five times per year.

This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the intermediate starting salary of $56,712.48, and a senior starting salary of $61,249.44.
