Job description

Director of IT will lead our information technology function across six facilities, overseeing infrastructure, cybersecurity, business systems, and end-user support for approximately 292 employees. This role is central to strengthening our technology foundation as we modernize systems, expand our cybersecurity posture to meet defense industry requirements, and leverage technology to support growth across the aerospace, defense, automotive, and medical markets we serve., * IT Strategy & Leadership ? Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy and technology roadmap aligned with Technique?s business objectives, supporting growth across our aerospace, defense, automotive, and medical markets.

  • Infrastructure Management ? Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, servers, cloud services, and end-user computing across all six Technique facilities, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance ? Lead the company?s cybersecurity program, including compliance with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC requirements for defense contracts, ITAR data controls, security monitoring, incident response, and employee security awareness training.
  • ERP & Business Systems ? Administer and optimize the E2 MFG (Shoptech) ERP system, including user support, integrations, upgrades, and data integrity, while identifying opportunities to expand system utilization across departments.
  • Manufacturing Technology ? Partner with operations leadership to support shop floor systems, data collection, machine connectivity, and manufacturing technology initiatives that improve throughput, quality, and visibility.
  • Systems Implementation ? Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new business platforms, including supporting the current HRIS transition to ADP, ensuring smooth deployment, data migration, and user adoption.
  • Team Development ? Build, lead, and mentor the IT team, including help desk support, establishing clear priorities, service level expectations, and professional development plans.
  • End-User Support ? Ensure responsive, high-quality technical support for approximately 292 employees across office and manufacturing environments, including hardware, software, and access management.
  • Business Continuity ? Design and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans that protect critical systems and data and minimize downtime in a production environment.
  • Vendor Management ? Manage relationships, contracts, and performance of technology vendors, service providers, and consultants, negotiating agreements that deliver value and reliability.
  • Budget Management ? Develop and manage the annual IT budget, including capital planning for infrastructure and systems investments, controlling costs while maintaining service quality.
  • Policy & Governance ? Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards covering acceptable use, data security, change management, and asset management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in an IT leadership or management role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred; familiarity with ERP systems (E2 MFG/Shoptech a plus).
  • Strong technical knowledge of network administration, server infrastructure, Microsoft 365, and cloud services.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks; experience with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, or ITAR requirements strongly preferred.
  • Relevant certifications a plus (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCNA, ITIL, PMP).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams, manage budgets, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a hands-on, service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments and comfort working around shop floor equipment and processes.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel between Technique?s six Jackson-area facilities as needed.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; Technique, Inc. participates in E-Verify.

Position Type and Expected Hours

Benefits & conditions

This is a full-time, exempt position. Standard hours are Monday through Friday during regular business hours, with occasional evening or weekend availability required for system maintenance windows, upgrades, and urgent support needs.
