Job description
We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Manager to lead the cybersecurity program for operational systems supporting autonomous maritime platforms, software, and mission systems. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing cybersecurity requirements throughout the system lifecycle while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity standards. This role partners closely with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Program Management, and customers to ensure security is integrated into products from design through deployment and sustainment., * Lead cybersecurity efforts for operational systems and mission-critical platforms.
- Develop and implement cybersecurity requirements throughout the system development lifecycle.
- Perform cybersecurity risk assessments and security architecture reviews.
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, including RMF, NIST SP 800-171, and applicable program requirements.
- Work with software and systems engineers to implement secure development practices.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation activities.
- Support cybersecurity testing, validation, and accreditation efforts.
- Develop system security documentation, security plans, and supporting artifacts.
- Participate in customer meetings, security reviews, and technical interchange meetings.
- Stay current on emerging cyber threats affecting operational technology, embedded systems, and autonomous platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of cybersecurity experience supporting DoD systems or operational technologies.
- Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
- Experience securing software, embedded systems, networks, or autonomous platforms.
- Knowledge of secure software development and cybersecurity engineering principles.
- Experience performing vulnerability assessments and security testing.
- Ability to develop technical security documentation and work directly with government customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- CISSP, CISM, Security+, or CASP+
- Experience with DoD Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
- Experience with embedded Linux, real-time operating systems, or autonomous systems.
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, STIGs, RMF, and secure coding practices.
