Cyber Systems Security Engineer

THE WORK As a member of our team, you will be involved in a variety of activities aimed at enhancing the cyber resiliency of the AFSOC ACTS program. This includes tasks such as:

• Hardening operating systems, applications, and network devices
• Conducting vulnerability scans
• Continuous monitoring of the security posture of the system
• Assisting with Government Certification Test and Evaluation (CT&E) and Vulnerability Testing
• Implementing security updates and patches
• Applying configuration changes to ESS and ACAS security tools
• Providing support to maintain the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) of the system to include support of the RMF package
• Collaboration with system stakeholders to ensure the cybersecurity posture of the system is maintained
• Interfacing with and supporting the ISSO and other government security stakeholders
• Supporting the Security Impact Analysis (SIA) process through the generation of Contract Deliverables (CDRL) and RMF supporting artifacts both on unclassified and classified networks.

You should have demonstrable knowledge in cybersecurity administration or systems administration, through practical, hands-on work experience Strong interpersonal and communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team are essential. You should have a solid working knowledge of Linux or Windows based systems and have an active CompTIA Security+ certification or higher IAT Certification. You should also be able to obtain a US Secret Security or higher level Clearance. Having experience with ESS, ACAS, or SolarWinds security tools is a plus, as well as experience with Windows Active Directory and a familiarity with DISA STIGs., * Demonstrable and relevant cybersecurity engineering or systems administration experience.

• Good working knowledge of Linux or Windows based systems.
• Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification or higher (e.g. CompTIA Security+ or CISSP)
• Ability to obtain an Secret DoD Secret security clearance prior to starting this position. Obtaining a Security Clearance requires US citizenship.
• Ability to travel up to 10% travel to our customer sites throughout the U.S.

• Linux/Red Hat or Windows OS certifications
• Experience with Windows Active Directory and Group Policy maintenance
• Familiarity with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
• Troubleshooting as a systems administrator
• Good organizational and coordination skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to support and collaborate with a team
• Critical thinking skills to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
