Job description

Our client is a nationally recognized healthcare organization dedicated to improving care for individuals with chronic and complex health conditions. Through innovative technology, collaborative care models, and a commitment to operational excellence, the organization enhances patient outcomes while supporting healthcare teams with reliable, scalable technology solutions. They are seeking an experienced Windows Systems Administrator to join their Environment Management team. This role is ideal for a technically driven professional who enjoys building, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise environments while leveraging automation to improve efficiency. You’ll play a key role in supporting pre-production infrastructure, collaborating with development and quality assurance teams, and ensuring application environments remain stable, secure, and deployment-ready.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows-based pre-production environments, including operating systems, middleware, databases, and enterprise applications.
  • Deploy, validate, and support application releases, including performing smoke testing, managing environment backups, and executing rollback procedures when needed.
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell and other scripting tools to streamline system administration and deployment processes.
  • Monitor environment health, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, recommend performance improvements, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Partner with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to manage environment access, support release activities, resolve technical issues, and ensure effective change management through established ticketing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five or more years of Windows Systems Administration experience supporting enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise with Windows Server (2008–2022), PowerShell automation, IIS, Active Directory, DNS, VMware, SQL Server clustering, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Hands-on experience using DevOps and source control tools such as GitLab, Bitbucket, Artifactory, along with structured ticket management workflows.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Additional Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with SQL Server connectivity and basic query execution.
  • Familiarity with Oracle database connections and enterprise networking technologies, including VLANs and load-balancing solutions.
  • Ability to architect and provision new environments while documenting system dependencies and operational procedures.
  • Comfortable supporting occasional after-hours deployments, maintenance activities, and periodic travel as needed.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across technical teams while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer focus.
