Job description

seeking a Robot Technician & Programming Support professional to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize industrial robotic systems. This role combines hands-on robotic maintenance with programming support for new equipment installations, production improvements, and system troubleshooting., * Install, commission, and support industrial robotic systems.

  • Assist with robot programming, program modifications, backups, and optimization.
  • Troubleshoot robotic equipment, controllers, end-of-arm tooling, vision systems, and peripheral devices.
  • Perform robot recoveries after faults, crashes, or production interruptions.
  • Support equipment startups, machine integration, and production launches.
  • Optimize robot cycle times and overall system performance.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and communication issues affecting robotic systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on robotic equipment.
  • Support PLC-controlled automation systems and assist with I/O troubleshooting.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, robot drawings, mechanical prints, and technical documentation.
  • Work closely with controls engineers, maintenance technicians, electricians, and production personnel.
  • Maintain robot backups, software revisions, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure robotic systems comply with company safety standards and industry regulations.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has experience working with industrial robots, understands manufacturing automation, and enjoys solving complex technical challenges in a fast-paced production environment., * Associate degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience supporting industrial robotic systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with one or more industrial robot platforms including:
  • FANUC
  • ABB
  • Yaskawa/Motoman
  • KUKA
  • Universal Robots (UR)
  • Kawasaki
  • Experience performing robot troubleshooting and fault recovery.
  • Understanding of robotic safety systems and machine guarding.
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled automation equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Robot programming experience using teach pendants and offline programming software.
  • Experience integrating robots with:
  • Vision systems
  • Conveyors
  • Servo systems
  • End-of-arm tooling
  • Welding equipment
  • Material handling systems
  • Palletizing systems
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, etc.).
  • Industrial networking experience including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus.
  • Robot manufacturer certifications are highly desirable.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, climb ladders, and work around automated equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime, weekends, or travel for equipment installations and customer support.
