IT Support Specialist

This position is responsible for the support and improvement of the data and communications infrastructure at the Augusta Technology Center and Distribution Center. Functions, Duties, and Tasks:

• Manage, monitor, and support the Augusta Technology Center network infrastructure
• Administer local servers and support server software and hardware
• Manage IT cabling including CAT5, fiber optics, telephone systems
• Coordinate with corporate support teams to resolve Wide Area Network (WAN) and IP telephony issues
• Coordinate with the Process Control Group to resolve network issues.

• Coordinate with corporate support teams on software standards for servers and workstations

• Work with outside vendors to manage IT infrastructure projects.

Minimum Qualification (Education, Experience and/or Training, Required Certifications)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration or related field, * Minimum of 5 years of experience in computers with direct support of network gear, server hardware and software., * Familiarity with TCP/IP, SNMP, Backup systems, etc. required.
• Microsoft Windows Server administration and setup experience required.
• Familiarity with Exchange, IIS, SNMP, SAN and other server platforms desired.
• Cable plant design and knowledge of standards.
• Requires the ability to develop effective partnerships with internal customers and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be highly organized and focused on providing solutions to business needs.
