Job description
As a Working Student in Manual & Automated Testing for next-generation in-car infotainment systems, you will support our test teams across a wide range of activities, including both hands-on system validation and the development of modern automation solutions.
Sneak preview of your future tasks
Manual & System Testing:
- Flashing ECUs and preparing HW/SW for various testing activities
- Setting up and maintaining test benches
- Planning and executing test activities
- Writing, reviewing, and executing manual test cases (on test setups)
- Documenting test results and overall test progress
- Creating and tracking bugs in collaboration with developers and feature teams
Test Automation & AI-based Quality Engineering:
- Analysing automated test results and identifying patterns or defects
- Developing automated test cases for SW-related components
- Improving and maintaining existing automated test frameworks
- Supporting the development of AI-based tools for testing (e.g., intelligent log analysis, automated bug classification, test-case generation, anomaly detection)
- Contributing to test stability, reliability, and coverage improvements through scripting, tooling, and automation
- Working closely with automation engineers to bring new test ideas into production, * An international, interdisciplinary innovation hub, which is part of the Mercedes Benz AG

Requirements
- You are currently pursuing a master’s degree (or equivalent) in electronic/embedded engineering, automotive engineering, computer science, or a comparable technical field
- You must be enrolled in a university for the entire duration of the employment
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of testing workflows (e.g., bug creation, test reporting)
- First experience in software and/or hardware testing, ideally embedded systems
- Experience with X-Ray or other test management tools
- Scripting knowledge in Python and/or C/C++ (CAPL is a plus)
- Experience with automated testing frameworks is a plus
- Interest or initial experience in AI/ML tools for testing, data processing, or automation pipelines
