Job description

We are looking for a Senior Edge Infrastructure Engineer to own provisioning and operations for our distributed fleet of Linux-based edge devices, cameras, and sensors. You’ll replace manual processes with automated PXE-based deployment and configuration management, and support our onsite Installation Engineers by keeping systems deployment-ready and fleet health strong. Senior individual-contributor role.

Why join us

  • Mission with real impact. You’ll help the world’s most essential companies stay competitive, sustainable, and safe in a world of labor shortages and rising costs.
  • Category-defining moment. With global manufacturers already deploying Almetra and fresh funding, we’re scaling fast across Europe and the US.
  • Fleet at scale, real ownership. You’ll build the automated backbone behind hundreds of edge devices running in live factories.
  • High bar, high trust. You’ll work directly with founders, product, and engineering to define how we deploy and operate hardware at scale.

What you’ll do

  • Own and develop PXE-based provisioning pipelines; automate configuration, testing, and deployment for Linux edge devices
  • Manage the operational lifecycle of the deployed fleet, including monitoring, patching, and remote diagnostics
  • Support Installation Engineers with fully prepared equipment, clear documentation, and remote troubleshooting
  • Manage secure network configurations (routing, VPN, firewalls) for distributed customer environments
  • Define standards for fleet maintenance, reliability, and automated tooling, An increasing benefits list: currently includes Urban Sports club and quarterly team retreats.

Be on the forefront in defining what artificial intelligence means in manufacturing

Gain hands-on experience in working in an AI-first software company

Supportive and inclusive culture that values diversity and promotes the advancement of underrepresented groups within the company

Collaborate with a diverse (currently more than 10 nationalities) and talented team, working on cutting-edge projects with real-world impact

Network with professionals and leaders in the field, opening doors to potential future career opportunities

We have a very flat hierarchy, open 360° feedback, and flexible working hours

Requirements

  • Significant experience administering and troubleshooting Linux systems
  • Hands-on with PXE/network boot and unattended provisioning
  • Proficient in Bash/Python and configuration management/IaC tools
  • Solid networking knowledge (IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, Firewalls, VPNs)
  • Experience with WireGuard or similar VPN tools like Tailscale
  • Experience managing distributed fleets at scale
  • Ability to work from Berlin with up to 50% travel to customer sites
  • Professional English proficiency

Nice to have

  • Experience building agentic or LLM-based workflows to generate, adapt, or validate infrastructure and device configurations
  • Familiarity with industrial environments (IoT, cameras, fieldbus protocols)
  • Professional German proficiency
