Job description

Our client is looking for a Microsoft Power BI Reporting Analyst to join their growing IT function and are able to offer a compressed nine-day fortnight - which means every other Friday off!

Requirements

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced BI professional who enjoys transforming complex data into meaningful business insights while working with modern Microsoft data platforms. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining enterprise-level Power BI reports, dashboards and datasets that support informed decision-making. You’ll translate business requirements into robust analytical solutions while ensuring data models are scalable, high-performing and aligned with best practice.Experience with modern Microsoft data technologies such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics or Azure Data Factory is essential. Key ResponsibilitiesGather, analyse and translate business requirements into reporting and analytical solutions.Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models.Build and optimise data models using industry best practices, including star schema design.Develop and maintain DAX measures, calculated columns and reusable datasets.Ensure reporting solutions are performant, scalable and governed appropriately.Integrate data from multiple enterprise sources including SQL databases, Excel, cloud platforms, APIs and data lakes.Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to deliver clear, actionable insights.Maintain high standards of data quality, governance and documentation.Support continuous improvement of reporting capabilities and analytics across the organisation. Skills & ExperienceStrong commercial experience with Microsoft Power BI (Desktop and Service).Excellent understanding of data visualisation principles and dashboard design.Strong knowledge of data modelling, relationships, transformations and DAX.Experience working with SQL and relational databases.Hands-on experience with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics or Azure Data Factory.Exposure to REST APIs, JSON and Microsoft Graph is advantageous.Strong understanding of data governance and data quality best practices.Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into effective reporting solutions.Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.A proactive, analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality BI solutions.
