Job description
As MIS Manager, you’ll be the person who makes sure our learner data is accurate, our funding claims are compliant, and our leadership team has the insight they need to make good decisions. This is a part-time role, ideal for an experienced MIS professional from the further education, apprenticeship, or training provider sector looking for flexible hours., * Own the end-to-end management of our Management Information System (MIS), keeping learner records accurate, complete and up to date
- Prepare and submit accurate, timely Individualised Learner Record (ILR) returns in line with DfE/SLC requirements
- Monitor funding compliance and support funding claims for government-funded courses, flagging risks or errors before they become problems
- Produce regular reports and dashboards for senior leadership on enrolments, retention, achievement rates, and funding performance
- Support Ofsted inspection readiness by maintaining robust, audit-ready data and documentation
- Liaise with awarding bodies (e.g. Active IQ) and funding bodies to ensure data submissions meet their requirements
- Identify trends and data quality issues, working with curriculum, admissions and quality teams to resolve them
- Provide training and day-to-day guidance to staff on correct MIS use and data entry standards
- Support system upgrades, integrations, and troubleshooting with our MIS/LMS provider
Requirements
- Proven experience in an MIS Manager, MIS Officer, or Data & Funding role within a training provider, further education college, or apprenticeship provider
- Strong working knowledge of ILR submissions, DfE/SLC funding rules, and compliance requirements
- Confident using MIS/LMS platforms (e.g. PICS)
- Comfortable building reports and dashboards (Excel essential; Power BI a bonus)
- High attention to detail and comfortable working to funding deadlines
- Good understanding of GDPR and safe handling of learner data
- Self-motivated and able to manage your own workload with minimal supervision (ideal for someone balancing this alongside other part-time work)
