Join our team and play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the Disability Determinations Services (DDS). In this position youâll serve as the Information Technology director for the DDS program, overseeing the agencyâs Computer Center housed in the Baton Rouge Area Office as well as remote LAN/WAN centers housed in New Orleans DDS and Shreveport DDS. In this role you will help provide users with Disability Determination Services a stable system to process disability claims for the citizens of Louisiana. Here, youâll enjoy displaying and expanding your knowledge and skill in a myriad of ways that significantly help DDS continue to provide quality service to the community. Come be a part!, A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles., + Supervises and manages permanent professional staff, hiring and training new employees, and prepares performance evaluations

Manages software initiatives of Social Security Administration as well as DDS

Manage operations, programming functions, and security for the statewide mainframe and IWS/LAN operations in three DDS offices

Implements and monitors policies and procedures for all operational functions

Prepares specifications and evaluations for bids to secure software and/pr software services

Plans and projects personnel, budgeting, equipment, and space needs

Designs and manages special studies, onsite observations, and statistical evaluations to analyze statewide performance involving system operations that affect production, cost, quality, and time considerations

Serves on state and national committees representing DDS needs on system related issues

Minimum Qualifications
Seven years of experience in information technology; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus five years of experience in information technology; OR
An associateâs degree in information technology plus five years of experience in information technology; OR
A bachelorâs degree plus five years of experience in information technology; OR
A bachelorâs degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field plus four years of experience in information technology; OR
A masterâs degree plus four years of experience in information technology., Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field.
