Job description

Support, maintain, and continuously improve business-critical systems, with a primary focus on the QAD 2014SE ERP platform. Working across manufacturing and supply chain functions, the role covers ERP administration, database management, EDI integrations, and Linux systems support - liaising closely with business stakeholders, customers, and suppliers., * Administer, support, and enhance the QAD 2014SE ERP system, including Manufacturing, Planning, Inventory, Purchasing, Sales Order Processing, Logistics, and Finance modules.

  • Maintain and optimise Progress OpenEdge databases, including backups and disaster recovery.
  • Support and troubleshoot EDI transactions and integrations with customers, suppliers, and logistics partners.
  • Administer Linux servers supporting QAD and associated applications.
  • Identify process automation opportunities and contribute to digital transformation initiatives.
  • Deliver technical documentation and support ERP-related projects end-to-end, including upgrades, testing, and user training., Based on a manufacturing plant floor with exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise (full PPE and H&S training provided). The role involves representing the company in internal, supplier, and customer meetings.

Requirements

  • 5+ years supporting and developing QAD 2014SE.
  • Strong Progress OpenEdge / ABL (4GL) and database administration experience.
  • Linux administration and troubleshooting.
  • EDI systems and integration experience.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Automotive industry experience (OEM, Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier).
  • Microsoft SQL Server and/or Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of MES, ITIL, and EDI standards (EDIFACT, VDA, Odette).
  • Lean manufacturing, supply chain, or production planning exposure.
