Job description
We are seeking a Telecommunications Systems Installer / Technician to support the installation, termination, testing, verification, and documentation of telecommunications and low-voltage systems for a major LNG export facility. This is a field-based position working within an active industrial construction environment and supporting communications infrastructure from initial installation through system completion and handover. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience installing communications cabling and field devices, reading technical drawings, performing detailed testing, and producing accurate installation and test records. Previous experience on LNG, oil and gas, petrochemical, or other large industrial projects is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities
- Install cable tray, supports, pathways, telecommunications cabling, and associated hardware in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Route, dress, label, terminate, and test copper, fiber-optic, multi-core low-voltage, and RF coaxial cabling.
- Install PAGA devices, field telephones, intercoms, CCTV cameras, security devices, radios, antennas, and related equipment.
- Read and work from location drawings, cable schedules, block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer instructions.
- Perform required cable and device testing, including continuity, copper certification, optical loss, and OTDR testing where applicable.
- Complete checksheets, inspection records, test reports, redline markups, punch-list records, and handover documentation.
- Participate in QA/QC inspections, system walkdowns, testing, punch closeout, and turnover activities.
- Perform all work in accordance with site safety, permit-to-work, LOTO, working-at-height, and OSHA requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum three years of telecommunications or low-voltage installation experience in LNG, oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, or industrial construction.
- Hands-on experience installing, terminating, and testing copper, fiber-optic, multi-core low-voltage, and RF coaxial cabling.
- Ability to read telecommunications drawings, schematics, cable schedules, and installation details.
- Working knowledge of applicable TIA, NFPA, project, and manufacturer installation and testing requirements.
- Experience using copper and fiber test equipment and accurately documenting test results.
- Strong attention to safety, workmanship, labeling, cable management, and documentation accuracy., * Previous experience on an LNG export facility, gas processing plant, refinery, petrochemical facility, or major energy project.
- Experience with CCTV, PAGA, alarm, RF/wireless, physical security, VoIP, intercom, or IT network systems.
- BICSI, manufacturer-specific copper or fiber certification, OSHA 10/30, or equivalent industry training.
- Experience with electronic quality, completions, field-reporting, or document-control systems.
Work Arrangement This is a site-based position supporting telecommunications installation, cabling, testing, documentation, and handover activities at an LNG export facility. Extended hours, shift work, or weekend support may be required based on construction and testing priorities. Work Authorization Applicants must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States and must remain authorized for the duration of employment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.
