Job description

C2O Americas is seeking an experienced Telecom Lead Technician to support commissioning activities at a major LNG facility in Southeast Texas. This position is responsible for leading the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of telecommunications systems critical to plant operations, safety, and communications., * Lead and supervise telecom commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Coordinate the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks, structured cabling, and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Commission and validate systems including Public Address/General Alarm (PA/GA), CCTV, Access Control, LAN/WAN networks, telephone systems, radio communications, and fiber optic systems.
  • Review engineering drawings, commissioning procedures, and turnover documentation to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, vendors, and operations teams to support safe and efficient system startup and handover.
  • Perform functional testing, loop checks, system integration, and troubleshooting of telecom equipment.
  • Maintain accurate commissioning records, punch lists, and completion documentation.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project safety requirements, company standards, and client specifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of telecommunications experience in LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, or other heavy industrial facilities.
  • Previous LNG commissioning or startup experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of fiber optic systems, structured cabling, network infrastructure, and industrial telecommunications systems.
  • Experience commissioning PA/GA, CCTV, Access Control, LAN/WAN, telephone, and radio communication systems.
  • Ability to interpret telecom drawings, network diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Proven leadership experience supervising field technicians and coordinating commissioning activities.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • TWIC Card required or the ability to obtain one.
