Job description

The Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst is responsible for configuration, maintenance, and optimization of revenue cycle systems that support billing operations. This role partners with Revenue Cycle leadership, operational staff, Information Technology, and external vendors to maintain system integrity, administer EDI processes, support system implementations and upgrades, troubleshoot system-related issues, and identify opportunities for workflow improvement. The Systems Analyst analyzes system performance, maintains configuration and billing tables, assists users with system functionality, and develops documentation to support consistent and efficient revenue cycle operations., * Maintains and configures revenue cycle systems, including system setup, billing tables, insurance tables, and other configuration required to support billing operations.

  • Maintains system integrity by evaluating requested changes, performing testing, validating results, and documenting configuration changes prior to implementation.
  • Administers EDI processes, payer connections, trading partner setup, and related system functionality to ensure accurate claim processing.
  • Coordinates with Revenue Cycle leadership and operational teams to implement, maintain, and troubleshoot billing edits, rules, and system configurations.
  • Monitors revenue cycle system performance through reports and data analysis to identify trends, system issues, and opportunities for workflow improvement.
  • Assists users with system navigation, troubleshooting, and functionality questions, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Supports system implementations, upgrades, testing, and validation to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Maintains administrative access and configuration for assigned revenue cycle systems, payer portals, and related applications.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve system workflows, automate processes, and enhance revenue cycle efficiency.
  • Creates and maintains system documentation, workflow instructions, and configuration records.
  • Collaborates with internal departments, vendors, and third-party partners to resolve system-related issues and support ongoing operations.
  • Manages multiple priorities while providing timely support for operational and project-related work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of State & Federal regulations and laws
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle workflows and healthcare billing systems.
  • Experience maintaining system configuration, billing tables, and insurance tables.
  • Understanding of EDI transactions and electronic claim processing.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and reports to identify system and workflow issues.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with operational leaders, IT, vendors, hospital and clinic providers, and end users.

Minimum Level Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: Minimum 3 years of revenue cycle experience

Physical Demands:

Sitting for extended periods.

Heavy use of computer keyboard.

Must be able to lift 20 pounds
