Job description
We are seeking an experienced Principal Consultant - System Contracting to support our System Contracting department by providing expert guidance in payer contracting, leading strategic initiatives, and managing complex healthcare contracting projects. This role will partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to develop contracting strategies, lead negotiations, perform financial analysis, and support value-based care initiatives., * Lead and manage complex payer negotiations and strategic contracting initiatives.
- Serve as project manager for high-impact, cross-functional system projects.
- Analyze fee-for-service and value-based contracts to evaluate financial performance and support negotiations.
- Develop financial models and provide contract analytics to support organizational decision-making.
- Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert on payer contracting, reimbursement methodologies, and value-based contracting.
- Consult with and educate internal stakeholders on payer contract strategies and reimbursement models.
- Collaborate with departments including System Contracting, Revenue Cycle, Finance, Analytics, Reimbursement, and Primary Health.
- Support strategic initiatives that improve operational and financial performance.
- Prepare executive-level reports and presentations.
- Successfully manage multiple priorities while meeting project deadlines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with extensive healthcare payer contracting experience, exceptional project management skills, and a strong understanding of value-based reimbursement models., * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of healthcare industry experience.
- Minimum 7 years of payer contracting experience, including at least 3 years working with value-based contracting models.
- Extensive project management experience leading complex initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies and payer contract negotiations.
- Understanding of legal, business, and insurance operations principles.
- Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting large healthcare systems.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional strategic initiatives.
- Experience presenting to executive leadership.
- Expertise in value-based reimbursement and alternative payment models.
