Job description

We are hiring a Cloud Engineer to handle our AWS infrastructure and automated release systems. You’ll join a team of engineers maintaining multi-region AWS environments supporting our core SaaS product.

In this role, you will focus on moving remaining legacy infrastructure into Terraform, managing our Kubernetes clusters, and improving our automated deployment workflows in GitHub Actions so feature updates can ship safely and frequently.

What You Will Work On

  • Maintain multi-account AWS environments hosting production, staging, and dev workloads using modular Terraform.
  • Manage production Kubernetes (EKS) clusters, including node group scaling, ingress controllers, and Helm charts.
  • Maintain GitHub Actions workflows for microservices deployments and automated infrastructure checks.
  • Set up subnets, VPC peering, transit gateways, route tables, and granular IAM roles.
  • Configure Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS CloudWatch for real-time metrics, log aggregation, and alert routing.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to investigate system outages, perform root-cause analysis, and patch underlying infrastructure issues.
  • Review cloud cost reports in AWS Cost Explorer to identify oversized EC2 instances or unattached EBS volumes and optimize resource allocation.
  • Keep internal system architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and runbooks updated in Confluence.

Requirements

  • 3+ years managing AWS infrastructure in a commercial, multi-server production environment.
  • Deep, practical knowledge of Terraform (writing custom modules, state file management, and refactoring existing code).
  • Hands-on administration of Linux environments (Ubuntu/Debian or RHEL) and shell scripting in Bash or Python.
  • Direct experience running Docker containers and Kubernetes (EKS) in live environments.
  • Practical understanding of core cloud networking: TCP/IP, DNS management, CIDR block allocation, VPN setup, and SSL/TLS certificate management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical industry experience.
  • Must have valid US work authorization (we cannot sponsor work visas for this position).

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or SysOps Administrator.
  • Experience using Ansible for automated server configuration.
  • Familiarity with serverless components like AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, or API Gateway.
