Job description
We are looking for a Systems Administrator / Help Desk Support professional to join our team in support of our state and federal clients. This full-time position is based onsite in Juneau, providing help desk and systems administration support across network, operating systems, desktop applications, web-based applications, storage area networks, and IT security.
Depending on the engagement, job duties may include:
- Respond to help desk tickets, phone calls, and emails from client staff, coordinating with the client’s IT division to resolve technical issues.
- Install new software releases, operating system updates, and patches; evaluate and resolve software-related problems.
- Perform system backups and recovery, and monitor system configuration to maintain data integrity.
- Provide support across network, desktop, and web-based application environments.
- Support Storage Area Network (SAN) administration and troubleshooting.
- Assist with IT security tasks, including monitoring and resolving security-related issues.
- Document, track, and monitor tickets to ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate with client technical contacts and the client’s IT division on task requests and priorities.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in systems administration, help desk support, or a related IT role.
- Hands-on experience with software release management, patching, and system upgrades.
- Experience performing system backups, recovery, and data integrity monitoring.
- Experience supporting network, desktop, and web-based application environments.
- Familiarity with Storage Area Network (SAN) administration and information technology security practices.
- Ability to learn new systems, tools, and processes quickly in a dynamic IT support environment.
- Ability to pass a standard background investigation required for client facility access.

- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the initiative and creativity to identify pragmatic, results-oriented solutions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing IT support in a government or highly regulated environment.
- Experience administering virtualized server environments and/or Google Cloud Platform services (e.g., VMware, Google Workspace, Cloud Storage).
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent IT service management training.
- Experience using IT service management or ticketing platforms to track and resolve support requests.
- Prior experience as a contractor or consultant.
