This role will serve as the technical expert responsible for the ongoing configuration, optimization, and maintenance of our Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) system.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Workday architecture, business process design, security, and system configuration. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving complex business challenges, and can translate operational needs into scalable Workday solutions. This individual will partner closely with HR, Payroll, Compensation & Benefits, IT, and business leaders to ensure Workday continues to evolve with the needs of the organization while maintaining system integrity and efficiency.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the organization’s Workday configuration expert, supporting the ongoing maintenance and optimization of the Workday platform.

  • Design, configure, test, and maintain Workday business processes, workflows, security, notifications, calculated fields, condition rules, and system configurations.

  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Compensation & Benefits, IT, and business leaders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable Workday solutions.

  • Build, maintain, and enhance Workday functionality across HCM modules while ensuring alignment with organizational policies and best practices.

  • Troubleshoot complex Workday issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.

  • Lead system enhancements, configuration changes, and process improvements while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

  • Support Workday releases by evaluating new functionality, testing updates, and recommending enhancements that add business value.

  • Develop and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields to support operational and strategic decision-making.

  • Maintain system documentation, configuration standards, business process maps, and change management documentation.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to prioritize enhancement requests and manage a backlog of system improvements.

  • Ensure data integrity by auditing system configurations, identifying inconsistencies, and recommending corrective actions.

  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to HR team members and managers on Workday capabilities and best practices.

  • Support system integrations, data validation, testing activities, and cross-functional projects related to Workday.

When and Where:

This will be an 830-5PM M-F position located at our Corporate Office in Walker, MI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience with strong expertise in business process design and system administration.

  • Proven experience configuring and maintaining Workday HCM, including business processes, security, calculated fields, condition rules, reports, and notifications.

  • Strong understanding of Workday architecture, configuration best practices, and release management.

  • Experience supporting Workday in a post-implementation environment with responsibility for ongoing enhancements and optimization.

  • Experience with Workday reporting, dashboards, and data management.

  • Knowledge of Workday integrations, EIBs, and data conversion processes is preferred.

  • Experience supporting HR, Payroll, Talent, Compensation, Benefits, Time Tracking, or Absence modules is preferred.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex system issues.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions while balancing user experience and system governance.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive employee and organizational information.
