Job description

The Cybersecurity Engineer 1 will support a Federal cybersecurity technology program. This role supports enterprise information assurance engineering activities across cybersecurity tools and platforms, including web application firewalls, governance and compliance systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and enterprise log management capabilities. The Cybersecurity Engineer will provide technical support for the planning, design, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of cybersecurity technologies used within a large Federal mission environment., Analyze cybersecurity requirements and apply information assurance principles to enterprise systems.

  • Support integration and sustainment of Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies supporting web assets.
  • Assist with implementation, tuning, and maintenance of F5 BIG-IP Application Security Manager (ASM) policies.
  • Conduct security engineering activities including: system design review and vulnerability assessment support security testing and validation
  • Support patching, configuration updates, and lifecycle maintenance of cybersecurity tools.
  • Assist in development of technical documentation, implementation guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in system troubleshooting and root cause analysis related to application security issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and refine security controls for enterprise applications.
  • Support cybersecurity engineering efforts aligned with DoD and Federal information assurance policies.

Requirements

7+ years of relevant IT / cybersecurity experience

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Must meet DoD 8570 / 8140 IAT Level III certification requirements - candidate must possess one of the following certifications: CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, CCSP
  • Must meet DoD 8570 / 8140 CND-IS certification requirements - candidate must posses one of the following certifications: CEH, GICSP, GCIH, GCIA, CFR
  • Must be eligible for IT Level I access
  • Computing Environment Certification: F5 Certified Technology Specialist - ASM

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting enterprise WAF deployments
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks
  • Experience supporting large enterprise environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
