Job description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Training Specialist to join the Tabless team at Gigafactory Texas. In this role, you will develop and deliver a world-class technical training program, leveraging expertise in automated production equipment, troubleshooting, and process optimization to drive operational excellence. This position requires a passion for hands-on skills development, exceptional communication and organizational abilities, and a professional, motivational demeanor. A strong sense of ownership and accountability is essential. As part of the Technical Operations team, you will train, evaluate, and certify technicians, create and maintain technical documentation, and promote a structured, safe, and focused learning. What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and deliver hands-on technical training for technicians on automated equipment such as welders, winders, conveyors, and other automated systems
  • Lead training sessions in both the field and controlled environments, reinforcing safe operation, troubleshooting methods, and quality-critical procedures
  • Facilitate critical-to-quality (CTQ) certifications and technical competency assessments, certifying technicians in critical skills and as on-the-job trainers, documenting results and proficiency levels
  • Provide on-shift training support to resolve equipment issues and coach technicians through practical challenges
  • Create and maintain comprehensive training materials, including lesson plans, SOPs, assessment guides, visuals, presentations, and job aids
  • Support technicians in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and automation issues during training and in production
  • Work with engineering and equipment SMEs to understand failure modes, update training content, and coach technicians on root-cause resolution

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical training, maintenance, or technician role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strongtechnical knowledge and troubleshooting skillswith mechanical, electrical, and automation systems
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver technical content to diverse audiences and lead group presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to develop training materials, assessments, and documentation
  • Experience facilitating new hire onboarding, documenting attendance, and evaluating assessments or feedback
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ownership mentality, and a drive for continuous improvement and measurable outcomes

Essential Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
  • Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
  • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach
  • Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
  • Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: PAPR, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
