Job description

About the role: Our client is looking for an experienced Analyst III to support grid operations by developing and coordinating electrical distribution system switching plans across the NSP service territory. You will ensure safe and effective execution of grid work through the creation of switching requests, coordination with the Control Center, and adherence to established safety procedures and clearance requirements.

You will bring a strong distribution utility background, field operations experience, and a thorough understanding of switching procedures, safety tagging, clearances, and grid operations. This is a 1-year contract role and will be onsite., * Develop and write switching requests and switch plans for distribution grid work within the NSP territory.

  • Coordinate switching activities with the Control Center and other operational teams.
  • Review upcoming work schedules and prepare switch plans to support planned grid maintenance and operations.
  • Ensure switching plans comply with all safety requirements, tagging procedures, and clearance protocols.
  • Submit switching plans for review, incorporate feedback, and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Schedule approved switching plans and coordinate execution with operational stakeholders.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Control Center personnel regarding switching plan questions and clarifications.
  • Collaborate with Grid Operations, Outage Coordination, and other internal stakeholders to support safe and efficient system operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of field experience as a Lineman, Troubleman, or other electric utility operations role.
  • Experience within a Distribution System Operating Group (DSOG) or similar utility operations environment.
  • Experience supporting distribution operations at an electric utility.
  • Familiarity with Oracle NMS.
  • Previous switching coordination or outage coordination experience.
  • Understanding of:
  • Switching procedures
  • Safety tagging practices
  • Clearance procedures
  • Grid operations
  • Basic engineering or electrical theory knowledge.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be ($70.00/hr-$75.00/hr)
