Job description
The Telecom Analyst - Telecom Optimization role supports a targeted initiative focused on evaluating and optimizing legacy analog telecommunications services. This position is responsible for analyzing telecom usage, billing, and inventory data to determine whether services should be retained, replaced, or disconnected., Analyze telecommunications billing, usage, and inventory data to identify cost-savings opportunities Evaluate legacy analog voice lines and data circuits to determine continued need or eligibility for replacement or disconnection Partner with site contacts, TEM vendors, and telecom carriers to collect required data and validate findings Develop data-driven recommendations to retain, replace, or disconnect services Maintain and update analysis results, decisions, and actions within designated tracking systems Manage project timelines, deliverables, and execution of approved actions Provide regular status updates, reporting, and issue resolution to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Detailed Responsibilities Conduct detailed analysis of analog telecommunications lines by location, usage, and billing Identify redundant, underutilized, or unnecessary services Validate requirements and findings with internal stakeholders and external vendors Coordinate execution of approved disconnects or replacements Track progress, risks, and dependencies to ensure timely completion of project objectives Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Key Interactions Internal site contacts and business stakeholders Telecom Expense Management (TEM) vendors Telecom carriers and service providers Project and operational leadership teams
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with legacy voice and data circuits, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex telecom data into clear, actionable, cost-saving recommendations. This role plays a key part in cost optimization and modernization efforts across the organization., Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunications analysis, telecom optimization, or a closely related role Hands-on experience with legacy telecommunications services, including: Analog dial tone Legacy data circuits Strong understanding of telecom billing, invoicing, and inventory management Proven ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable recommendations Experience working directly with vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders
Preferred Skills & Attributes Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills Self-directed and proactive with the ability to manage multiple initiatives Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to provide structured project updates and reporting Comfortable working in a project-based, results-driven environment
Disqualifiers Fewer than 5 years of relevant telecommunications experience Lack of hands-on knowledge of legacy voice or network circuits
