Job description
At Eneco we work towards one clear goal: being fully climate-neutral by 2035. A big part of that happens at home. Solar panels, batteries, electric cars and heat pumps only make a real difference if they work together and respond to the moment when green energy is available.
That is what our Home Energy Management platform does. It is the enabling layer other Eneco teams and products build on: it connects the assets in someoneâs home, talks to the systems of the manufacturers behind them, and makes it possible to control them safely and reliably. You build that layer, in a team that takes engineering seriously and gives you room to shape how it grows.
- You build and run cloud-native services on Azure, using Functions, IoT Hub, Event Hubs and API Management.
- You design and build event-driven integrations and REST APIs that other teams use.
- You build backends for our mobile apps, so customers can see and steer their own energy at home.
- You build integrations with OEMs and vendors, from battery manufacturers to charging-station suppliers, and you deal with the reality that every partner does things a little differently.
- You automate your infrastructure with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC: your environment is defined in code, not clicked together by hand).
-
You keep quality high with CI/CD, automated tests, monitoring and observability.
- Reliable services and integrations that connect and control energy assets in customersâ homes.
- APIs and events that other Eneco teams can build on with confidence.
- Automated, repeatable deployments through Terraform and CI/CD.
-
The health of what you build: you run it, you monitor it, you improve it (âyou build it, you run itâ).
- You have solid engineering fundamentals and you care about writing code that others can build on.
- You work with TypeScript and Node.js, or youâre a strong developer in another modern language and happy to switch.
- You feel at home in the cloud. Azure is a plus; experience with AWS or GCP translates well.
- You understand event-driven architecture and APIs, and you like building systems that stay reliable when things go wrong.
- Youâre curious about new technology and you take ownership of what you build, from first commit to production.
- You want to work on energy solutions for consumers and you find that motivating.
- Recognise yourself in most of this, but not every requirement? Weâd still love to hear from you.
You join the engineering team behind Home Energy Management. The team builds an enabling platform for the wider Eneco ecosystem, so you work closely with product, mobile teams and external partners. Itâs a hands-on team that shares knowledge, discusses architecture together and leaves plenty of space for your own ideas.
- You build the platform that connects and steers home batteries, solar panels, EVs and charge points across thousands of Dutch homes.
- You work with modern cloud technology: TypeScript, Azure, event-driven services and Infrastructure as Code.
- Your work helps households use their own green energy at the right moment, instead of letting it go to waste.
