Job description
As a Cyber Software Engineer, you’ll work across a diverse range of secure programmes, analysing, developing and enhancing software that operates within complex and highly regulated environments.
You’ll be involved throughout the software lifecycle, from researching technical challenges and designing solutions through to implementation, testing and operational deployment. Projects span multiple operating systems, architectures and technology stacks, giving you the opportunity to solve a wide variety of engineering problems alongside multidisciplinary teams.
Whether you’re reverse engineering software, building secure applications or developing tools to automate testing and deployment, you’ll contribute to solutions that make a genuine operational impact.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for engineers with experience across several of the following areas:
- Reverse engineering software, firmware or compiled applications using industry-standard tooling.
- Analysing software to understand system behaviour, identify vulnerabilities and assess security risks.
- Developing applications using C, C++, Java or C#.
- Creating automation and tooling using Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar scripting languages.
- Working within Linux, Windows or Android environments.
- Designing, developing and maintaining secure, well-tested software using modern engineering practices.
- Building automated testing, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Understanding low-level system architecture, operating systems or processor architectures including x86/x64 and ARM.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Ghidra, IDA Pro or other reverse engineering tools.
- Cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
- Containerisation, virtualisation or emulation platforms.
- Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning.
- Embedded software or firmware development.
- Agile software delivery within Defence or National Security environments.
Requirements
Due to the sensitive nature of the work, applicants must be eligible to obtain SC or DV Security Clearance. Existing clearance is advantageous but not essential.
