DAY TO DAY AS A SYSTEMS SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

As a Systems Support Technician at Greenville Federal Credit Union, you will provide exceptional technical assistance and support for various computer systems, software, and hardware-related issues. Your role involves responding to inquiries both in person and over the phone, ensuring every customer feels valued and supported. You will create comprehensive training manuals and train users to enhance their technical skills.

Daily, you’ll maintain optimal performance of computer systems, address email requests for help, and guide customers through the problem-solving process with patience and expertise. Your responsibilities include installing, modifying, and repairing hardware and software, as well as cleaning up and running diagnostic programs to resolve technical issues. You will tackle problems related to Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN), install computer peripherals, and follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback, ultimately ensuring a seamless technical experience for all users.

Requirements

To excel as a Systems Support Technician at Greenville Federal Credit Union, candidates should possess a minimum of an associate’s degree or a combination of relevant education and experience. A solid foundation of 1 year in the IT field is essential, alongside a working knowledge of Microsoft Servers and MS Exchange Servers. Familiarity with VMWare and overall IT department operations will set you apart. Proficiency in supporting HP or Dell hardware, as well as troubleshooting laptops, desktops, and printers, is crucial.

Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Active Directory for user setups and authentications, and Windows 7/XP support is required. Additionally, having a good understanding of network concepts and Windows Server administration will empower you to navigate challenges effectively. Excellent communication skills and a problem-solving mindset are necessary to provide superior service and ensure user satisfaction.
