Job description

Angry Byrd Logistics is a woman-owned Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP) launched in 2021 and based in Hanover, MD.

We operate 361 days a year, and are looking for a Fleet Manager to own the health, compliance, and daily readiness of a 50+ vehicle gas and electric fleet. If you’re the kind of person who chases a repair until it’s done, keeps immaculate records, and takes personal pride in every van rolling out safe and road-ready, we want to talk to you.

This is roughly 65% fleet administration and compliance, 20% repair coordination and light hands-on work, and the balance supporting the wider operation (including backup dispatch support when call-outs or volume require it)., Ensure the fleet is clean and in excellent working condition before daily load-out, and assist with load-out when needed

  • Review daily vehicle inspections and photos, and act on all reported defects same day
  • Ensure vans are fueled and EDVs are charged with enough range for their assigned routes
  • Produce the daily fleet status report
  • Verify operational status daily and escalate any repair barriers

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR COORDINATION

  • Follow up relentlessly on open repairs (status, parts availability, shop capacity) and source an alternate approved vendor whenever a shop can’t meet the required timeline
  • Track all PMs and ensure they are completed for both the rental and branded fleet
  • Schedule and transport vans to authorized shops for PM, repairs, and servicing
  • Coordinate tows for downed fleet as needed
  • Maintain a maintenance-tracking spreadsheet and app updates covering PM intervals, repair status, and vehicle history

SAFETY DEFECTS, GROUNDING, AND DAMAGE

  • Ensure all safety defects are scheduled for repair within two business days
  • Oversee the grounding and ungrounding process for vehicles
  • Assist with all accident and collision damage photos and documentation
  • Coordiante all recalls, retrofits, and service campaigns for fleet vehicles

COMPLIANCE, DOCUMENTATION, AND AUDITS

  • Complete weekly audits of every van to verify required documentation and safety supplies are present and current
  • Track registration expirations
  • Ensure safety devices (telematics and Netradyne cameras) stay installed, active, and untampered, troubleshoot as needed, and remove them from rentals at end of term

TEAM, TRAINING, AND COLLABORATION

  • Coach and train drivers on proper vehicle inspections
  • Assist with follow-up on vehicle damage reporting
  • Partner with the Dispatch and Ops Leads to consistently meet fleet excellence and safety objectives
  • Support daily operations, including backup dispatch when call-outs or volume require it

HANDS-ON WORK

  • Perform light maintenance yourself: changing tires, replacing bulbs and wiper blades, swapping mirrors, checking batteries, topping off fluids, and tightening loose hardware

Requirements

2+ years of fleet management experience

  • Comfort managing a mixed fleet of 50+ vehicles across multiple vehicle types and service networks
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, including building and maintaining schedules and tracking spreadsheets

-Strong aptitude for inspection technology and tools

  • Valid, non-provisional Maryland driver’s license and a clean driving record; 21 or older
  • Ability to commute to Hanover, MD and work on site
  • Diligence and relentless follow-through, especially with repair vendors
  • Strong interpersonal skills for professional interaction with drivers, the operations management team, and Amazon personnel
  • Willingness to complete Amazon’s 2-day driver training and a full-day on-road ride-along executing a route
  • Willingness to get DOT certified
  • A genuine team player
