Organization Information: Provide financial and manpower support to the National Guard Bureau Comptroller who has the mission to provide exceptional financial and property management oversight to enable the National Guard to fulfill its vital role in defending the nation and supporting the well-being of its members., We are seeking a detail-oriented Budget Management Analyst to support ARNG budget execution, financial reporting, and audit readiness efforts. The role involves analyzing financial data, maintaining Power BI dashboards, monitoring AFP allocations, and ensuring compliance with Army and ARNG accounting policies. The analyst will support RMIC internal control activities, participate in recurring ARNG and RMIC meetings, and manage financial documentation within the Mavin platform. Ideal candidates bring experience with federal financial systems such as Power BI, GEFBs, cPROBE, ADVANA, or DAGR, with additional experience in MAVEN, GFEBS/DEAMS, or audit readiness considered a plus., * Monitor and analyze ARNG budget execution activities, providing routine updates and supporting financial decision-making.

  • Manage recurring financial reporting requirements, including Status of Funds (SOF) and Unliquidated Obligation (ULO) Power BI applications for Army and ANG.
  • Troubleshoot financial data and system issues and coordinate resolutions with ANG FM offices, system owners, and contractor teams.
  • Track ARNG Annual Funding Program (AFP) allocations and ensure compliance with GORP memorandum requirements.
  • Obtain and maintain cPROBE access and assess accounting code changes stemming from the Army’s elimination of MDEPs.
  • Represent the organization at recurring ARNG Budget Update meetings, RMIC meetings, MAVEN forums, and other coordination events.
  • Support RMIC Program activities, including internal control evaluations, risk assessments, and audit-related due-outs.
  • Maintain financial documentation repositories, including Mavin policy folders, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Complete required system and technical training to maintain proficiency with financial management and data reporting tools.

Requirements

  • Secret Security Clearance (or the ability to receive a Secret Clearance)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field, and 2-5+ years of experience in financial analysis, audit readiness, or accounting support.
  • Experience in budget execution or financial management within a federal, DoD, or National Guard environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial/data systems such as Power BI, GEFBs, cPROBE, ADVANA, or DAGR.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions with technical and functional stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Army/ARNG accounting structures, MDEPs, AFP processes, and internal controls or audit requirements (RMIC).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, reporting requirements, and documentation with accuracy and attention to detail., * Demonstrated experience working with Palantir’s MAVEN platform, including data ingestion, analysis, and visualization; experience with GFEBS and/or DEAMS.
  • Advanced proficiency with Power BI, including dashboard creation, data modeling, DAX, and visualization.
  • Knowledge of federal financial management and audit standards such as FIAR, GAO guidance, and OMB Circular A-123.
  • Experience supporting DoD or federal audit readiness, audit remediation, or internal controls assessments (including RMIC).
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and financial/internal controls frameworks.
  • Experience with additional analytics tools such as SQL, Python, or Tableau, and/or professional certifications such as CPA, CDFM, CGFM, or CIA.
