Job description

We are looking for a skilled Backend Python Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Python, hands-on experience building production-grade REST APIs, and a solid understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and scalable data platforms. Experience integrating backend services with ML models or Large Language Models (LLMs) is a strong plus., * Design and build scalable, cloud-native backend services using Python.

  • Develop distributed systems capable of handling high-volume, real-time data processing.
  • Build and maintain integrations with Kafka, Databricks, and AWS-based services.
  • Design and optimize data models for large-scale analytical and operational workloads.
  • Develop secure APIs and integrations using REST/GraphQL, OAuth, and healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR where applicable.
  • Implement infrastructure using Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Write automated unit, integration, and API tests while contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and AI teams to integrate ML/LLM-powered capabilities into backend services.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in Python backend development.
  • Strong expertise in FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
  • Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
  • Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS.
  • Strong experience with Kafka and Databricks in production environments.
  • Strong data modeling and database design skills.
  • Experience with API security, authentication, and authorization (JWT/OAuth).
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Databricks, Kafka, and Snowflake.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Exposure to GraphQL.
  • Experience integrating backend applications with ML models or LLMs.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of asynchronous programming in Python.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (PyTest or similar).
  • Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
  • Experience working in cloud-native environments.

Nice to Have

  • Healthcare domain experience, particularly working with FHIR APIs and healthcare data.
  • Experience supporting large-scale production applications.
  • Experience building highly available, event-driven architectures.

Benefits & conditions

$35 - $49 an hour - Contract
