Job description

Traversa Solutions is a professional services organization specializing in the design, implementation, and support of LAN, WAN, network security, and wireless network solutions. We integrate technology into multi-vendor environments, enabling value-added resellers and product manufacturers to confidently expand their business. The Network Field Technician is responsible for staging, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting WLAN, LAN, and network security solutions in customer environments. This role requires strong hands-on technical skills, effective communication, and a customer-focused mindset.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Overall

  • Execute project scope requirements including staging, implementation, change management, testing, and documentation
  • Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and customers to ensure effective implementation and integration
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues independently or in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction throughout the solution delivery process

Field Leadership and Resource Coordination

  • Manage LAN and WLAN implementation resources to meet project schedules and objectives
  • Direct physical installation resources in accordance with Traversa rack, stack, and patch standards
  • Lead wireless access point installation crews
  • Set expectations with installation resources regarding processes, standards, and documentation requirements
  • Ensure Layer 2 and Layer 3 testing is completed and validated prior to departing customer sites
  • Inspect and validate the quality of onsite work to ensure successful project outcomes

Network Equipment Staging and Configuration

  • Stage and configure network electronics based on customer requirements and approved designs
  • Configure networking hardware from multiple vendors, including HPE Aruba, Cisco, Juniper, and Extreme

WLAN Survey

  • Conduct onsite wireless site surveys using tools such as Ekahau under the direction of a lead wireless engineer

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience implementing network electronics, and/or 5 or more years of demonstrated performance in a structured cabling environment
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience working for a system integrator, structured cabling provider, VAR, or as an independent consultant installing and troubleshooting network switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Familiarity with core networking technologies including routing, switching, DHCP, DNS, wireless networking, and network security
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and processes
  • CCNA desired; CompTIA Network+ or equivalent experience considered
  • Ability to travel approximately 30 to 50 percent annually

Required Experience

  • Hands-on experience with the implementation of network electronics: 4 or more years

Licenses and Certifications

  • CompTIA Network+ or equivalent
  • CCNA or equivalent desired
