GIS Specialist

• Update and maintain the Tidelands GIS Data Layer for public and internal use.
• Compile and manage spatial and non-spatial data, including digital files, historic maps, and aerial photography.
• Perform georeferencing of scanned maps and aerial imagery.
• Conduct feature identification, classification, enhancement, area calculations, and spatial analysis on raster and vector data.
• Use GIS research to assist staff in establishing Tidelands policies.
• Prepare reports with recommendations for the Tidelands Resource Council regarding State-owned lands.
• Process Tidelands Grants and Licenses.
• Provide GIS hardware and software support, including user assistance and training.
• Support enhancement and development of GIS technology for online Tidelands applications.
• Assist with field data collection using tablets, smartphones, and GPS units.
• Support preparation of technical reports and communicate with applicants.
• Assist in maintaining the Watershed and Land Management and Tidelands website in coordination with the IT Group and user groups.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university., * GIS data management and spatial analysis: 2 years (Required)
