Job description

Information Technology Services is the central IT organization for Florida State University, providing IT support and technology leadership to a diverse community. ITS is dedicated to delivering an effective, comprehensive and secure technology infrastructure. Within ITS, the Digital Experience and Transformation team delivers custom applications, CRM solutions, web hosting, and a range of community platforms for FSU. The DX DevOps team provides Salesforce application development and support.

The Salesforce Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the University’s Salesforce platform as well as integrations with other third-party technologies. This includes providing configuration, development, and system administration on customer relationship management and digital engagement technologies.

Manages all administrative functions, including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, workflows, and other routine tasks, to ensure all applications on the platform are working appropriately. Executes the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance, and improvement of the community engagement technology platform. Continues to manage the data feeds and other integrations. Review and adjust system settings for proper visibility and security. Completes regular internal system audits and addresses any findings. Solves incidents and requests. Creates and maintains documentation on processes, policies, and application configurations.

Configures and develops on the Salesforce platform using the suite products, including Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Experience Cloud. Creates custom applications and processes within the CRM, integrates third-party tools and platforms, troubleshoots, and solves technical issues. Follows and understands new Salesforce products and technical capabilities resulting from product releases and acquisitions. Proactively engages in continuous improvement efforts for application design, support, and practice development. Develops with a goal of maintainability in mind.

Fosters an environment that enables teams to do things correctly, quickly, consistently with fewer errors for a streamlined efficient process. Provides technical expertise, research, and analysis on complex application development for the Salesforce platform. Provides technical assistance and end-user troubleshooting for bug fixes, enhancements, and “how-to” assistance. Coaches and mentors the junior technical and functional team members.

Supports training needs. Assists in determining system changes that may require the training of end-users. Assists in the development of job aids and other training materials. Assists in maintaining training environments to include updating as changes are made in production., This position has been designated as eligible for primarily remote based on the current position/job functions. Employees are required to live in the Tallahassee area and report to campus as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and two years’ experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to six years.), Salesforce Certifications such as Platform App Builder, Platform Developer or Platform Administrator., This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
