Requirements

We are looking for a Senior AWS Python Developer or AWS Operations Expert with 6+ years of experience to join our team. If you are a senior-level engineer who enjoys working independently with minimal supervision, making sound technical decisions, and guiding architectural direction on complex distributed systems, this is the perfect role for you. You are comfortable writing clean application code in Python and managing infrastructure as code in TypeScript, with a deep, operational understanding of DynamoDB. This project focuses on a highly scalable, event-driven core platform built using AWS serverless technologies. Our team is fully responsible for the end-to-end architecture, infrastructure, and automated testing strategy. Instead of starting from scratch, you will be expected to dive into an established, mature codebase, quickly adopt our engineering conventions, and work effectively to expand, secure, and scale platform capabilities. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain highly resilient, event-driven services running on AWS serverless infrastructure Own and develop infrastructure as code (IaC) to ensure deployment reliability and consistency Actively contribute to architectural decisions, evaluate alternative design approaches, and document technical trade-offs Focus on operational excellence, ensuring services are secure, highly available, scalable, and easy to monitor Write and maintain robust automated end-to-end tests to ensure high product quality Collaborate closely with fellow senior engineers to evolve our developer platform capabilities and core engineering standards Requirements Python Development: Strong, hands-on professional experience using Python as your primary language AWS Serverless & Fundamentals: Solid understanding of AWS infrastructure (VPCs, multi-account setups, security) and experience with AWS Lambda in high-traffic production environments Integration Patterns: Practical experience designing and operating event-driven systems using EventBridge, SQS, and SNS, with a clear understanding of asynchronous communication Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Solid experience using AWS CDK (ideally using TypeScript) DynamoDB (Deep Expertise): Exceptional architectural and operational knowledge of DynamoDB, including single-table design, access-pattern modeling, GSIs/LSIs, capacity planning, TTL, and operational troubleshooting Distributed Systems: Strong grasp of distributed data consistency (ACID vs. BASE, eventual consistency) and service boundaries Automated Testing: Strong experience with automated testing strategies, ideally utilizing BDD frameworks (such as Behave) Data Modeling: Experience with schema definition and validation libraries like JSON Schema or Pydantic Nice to have Operational and development experience with AWS OpenSearch Hands-on application profiling and memory optimization skills Experience designing and managing GraphQL or REST APIs Background in operating high-volume, mission-critical production workloads
