Job description

Our platform integrates product development, pricing, reinsurance, and claims execution. We are in the processin of scoping out the automation of our core pricing engine, moving to real-time data exchange with reinsurer partners and building a portal-based UI that links pricing data sources end to end. This is a foundational moment for the Pricing team, and we are now looking for someone to join at the ground floor of that build., You’ll join a three-person Pricing team - a senior actuary who leads the function, and two more tenured pricing actuaries - and will play a central role in the technical build-out of the new pricing infrastructure alongside day-to-day pricing analytics. As our Data Analyst - Pricing, you’ll get to:

  • Support the pricing engine automation build - working closely with the Head of Pricing and technology partners to help design, test, and validate the automated engine and its data flows.
  • Own data linkage and quality - helping connect and reconcile data sources feeding the new UI/portal and building checks that catch issues before they reach production.
  • Enable real-time reinsurer data exchange - supporting the technical and data workstreams that allow pricing data to flow to and from reinsurer partners in real time.
  • Produce pricing analysis - building models, tools, and analysis that support pricing decisions across Further’s product lines.
  • Translate between technical and actuarial - acting as a bridge between the Pricing team’s actuarial requirements and the technical/engineering work needed to deliver them.
  • Document and improve - creating clear documentation for new tools and processes and proactively suggesting improvements as the automated engine matures.

Requirements

We are looking for a smart, driven analyst with a strong academic foundation and genuinely strong technical and data skills - someone who picks things up fast, asks the right questions, and “gets it” without needing everything spelled out. Actuarial experience or progress towards actuarial qualification (life or health) is a plus, but it is not a prerequisite. What matters more is intellectual horsepower, curiosity, and the ability to work confidently with data and systems., + Strong academic background - a degree in a highly numerate discipline (mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, engineering, economics, or similar) from a strong institution.

  • Genuine data and technical fluency - confident with SQL and at least one of Python or R; comfortable working with large, imperfect datasets; interest in or exposure to data pipelines, APIs, or system integration is a strong plus.
  • Sharp analytical thinking - able to structure ambiguous problems, spot what matters in the data, and reach sound conclusions independently.
  • Driven and low-ego - genuinely motivated to learn, takes ownership, and doesn’t need close supervision once pointed in the right direction.
  • Strong communicator - able to explain technical and analytical work clearly to actuarial and non-technical colleagues alike.
  • Language skills: Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English.
  • Actuarial interest (a plus, not a requirement) - progress towards or interest in life/health actuarial exams is welcomed but not necessary; we care more about aptitude and drive than exam progress., Are you looking for a new challenge in your career? Do you want to join a growing, dynamic and engaged international company with perspective for significant growth? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

Benefits & conditions

We are looking for talented professionals who want to work in a hybrid working model, where you can enjoy the best of both worlds: three days in the office and two days at home. You will also benefit from a competitive compensation package that rewards your performance and skills. As part of our team, you will collaborate with colleagues from different countries and backgrounds, sharing your expertise and learning from theirs. You will work in a modern, open plan office in a beautiful building in central Madrid, close to transport hubs. And you will have access to complementary fruit, tea and coffee to keep you energized throughout the day. In addition, we offer attractive employee benefits, including Cobee for social benefits and flexible compensation, as well as Wellhub, a platform designed to support your well-being and promote an active, healthy lifestyle. If this sounds like the ideal job for you, don’t hesitate to apply now! We are looking forward to hearing from you! Further is a certified “Happy At Work” employer. We earned the “We Impact Index” certification along with a Bronze Medal from Ecovadis, demonstrating our dedication to a positive work environment and impactful ESG practices. We believe passionately that employing a diverse workforce is central to our success. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital, or disability status.
