Job description

We are looking for a Senior Unix Shell Scripting Engineer with 8+ years of experience to support critical applications for a leading US-based Investment Bank. The role requires strong Unix/Linux expertise, scripting skills, and experience in production support and automation. This is a 100% onsite position in Boston, MA., * Develop, maintain, and optimize Unix Shell (Korn Shell/Bash) scripts.

Automate operational tasks, batch jobs, file transfers, and monitoring.
Provide production support and troubleshoot Unix/Linux application issues.
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and database teams.
Support application deployments and production releases.
Ensure system stability, performance, and operational efficiency.
Create and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

8+ years of experience with Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting (Korn Shell/Bash).
Strong knowledge of Unix commands, AWK, SED, GREP, Cron, and process management.
Experience with SQL and Oracle or other relational databases.
Familiarity with Git and file transfer protocols (SFTP/SCP).
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and automation skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in Investment Banking or Financial Services.
Knowledge of Control-M, Autosys, or similar scheduling tools.
Exposure to Python, Perl, Jenkins, or Ansible is a plus., * Bachelor’’'’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work directly with customer teams in an onsite environment.
