Job description

We are seeking a Software Engineer to support an enterprise-wide data center management environment. This role focuses on building, maintaining, and enhancing security compliance frameworks, monitoring solutions, and automated data pipelines across large-scale IT and High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Splunk, automation, and security/compliance tooling in classified or highly regulated environments., * Develop and maintain enterprise security compliance frameworks, including Secure the Enterprise (STE) and Secure the Network (STN) controls, for IT infrastructure and services, with aggregation and visualization in Splunk.

  • Design, build, and maintain Splunk dashboards and automated frameworks for data collection, normalization, routing, and visualization.
  • Develop and maintain Security Event Audit Reduction (SEAR)-like audit frameworks to provide visibility into auditable events across enterprise systems within Splunk.
  • Build and maintain automated processes for Nessus vulnerability and compliance scanning, including aggregation and presentation of results in Splunk.
  • Integrate data from new or emerging Tenable services and datasets into existing Splunk environments.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring tools, status beacons, uptime indicators, and outage reporting for enterprise and HPC environments using Nagios and Splunk.
  • Design and implement automated tools and processes to collect, retain, and analyze HPC performance metrics.
  • Develop and maintain custom plugins, scripts, and extensions to interrogate, enrich, and enhance data collected from multiple system and device types.
  • Support continuous improvement of monitoring, compliance visibility, and operational awareness across enterprise environments.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Splunk administration, dashboard development, and data ingestion pipelines.
  • Experience developing automated scripts or tools for data collection, processing, and visualization.
  • Hands-on experience with security compliance, auditing, and vulnerability management frameworks.
  • Experience integrating NessTenable vulnerability and compliance data.
  • Experience with Nagios or similar enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages used for automation and plugin development (e.g., Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or data center environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
  • Experience developing custom Splunk add-ons or plugins.
  • Familiarity with security event reduction, audit frameworks, and compliance automation.
  • Experience working in classified or highly regulated environments.

Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and a position appropriate security clearance is required, you must have an Active TS/SCI security clearance with customer appropriate polygraph.

Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location.
