Software Engineer

• Employees in this job function are responsible for designing, building and deploying cloud-based infrastructure and managed services to achieve scalability, flexibility and cost efficiencies for private and public cloud systems that support the business.
• They are focused on created opinionated cloud environments and systems like Storage as a service, Infrastructure as a service etc. that form building blocks used by other enterprise and product teams., * Designing and deploying various opinionated cloud environments and platforms aligned with enterprise architecture and security requirements while meeting the business-critical needs of internal customers.
• Collaborate with enterprise architect, security teams, solution architects, product teams, etc. to design, build, and deploy cloud infrastructure solutions to meet the company’s needs for scalability, availability, performance and security.
• Monitor system usage to predict future needs, ensuring that the organization scales its IT resources appropriately.
• Develop automation scripts and IaC templates for configuring and provisioning complex cloud resources including identity services, virtual private cloud, gateways, SSL, Kubernetes clusters, NoSQL data stores, etc.
• Integrate enterprise security and disaster recovery policies in cloud infrastructure configurations, ensuring data protection and data retention practices comply with industry regulations
• Design, implement and optimize cloud-based storage solutions ensuring data availability, security and cost efficiency
• Assist in the execution of technology strategy and implementation of engineering roadmaps, including optimizing cloud expenditure, maximizing resource usage and ensuring high availability across required geographic regions.
• Evaluate new and emerging cloud technologies for incorporation into existing systems, assist in modernization efforts to prioritize and execute migrations of on-prem services to cloud systems.

• IntelliJ - IDE, Coding, testing, and deployment of critical features for Connected Consumer and Vehicle applications, ensuring consistency, optimization, resilience, and security. · Utilize Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, TDD, and other agile principles (e.g., Jira) throughout the development lifecycle. · Implement and advocate for best practices in software craftsmanship, ensuring solutions are well-documented, maintainable, and adhere to high coding standards. · Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, automate delivery processes, and continuously improve efficiency to eliminate waste and facilitate rapid, reliable feature releases. · Architect and Design comprehensive API load-testing strategies and spearhead threat-modeling initiatives in collaboration with security teams to ensure robust, high-performance systems. · Proven experience designing and operating cloud-native systems (Google Cloud Platform preferred) · Strong experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL/SQL) and NoSQL databases (Mongo), data modeling, transactional integrity, and performance tuning. · Collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and translate requirements into technical specifications and provide ongoing support for application features.

• 3-5 years in development As part of the VC&M team, the Software Engineer is responsible for building resilient and scalable solutions in Java and cloud-native environments and adhering to industry best practices and company standards.
• The Software Engineer will be responsible for the development and ongoing support/maintenance of the services
• Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Information Technology or related (Masters preferred
• At least 2-3 years of experience building applications in microservice product architecture
• Expertise in core technologies, including Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Junit, Google Cloud Platform, RESTful APIs.
• Experience with MongoDB, relational databases and NoSQL solutions
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline design and implementation in a GitHub-based development workflow
• Efficient with canary deployments, and API related technologies such as JSON, REST, Swagger and Hoppscotch.
• Knowledge of Continuous Delivery process and tools, testing frameworks and practices (preferably GitHub, Terraform, Tekton, etc.).
• Generate metrics, perform user access authorization, maintain passwords, and build deployment pipelines.

• Effectively communicate your ideas and listen to others
• Good knowledge of testing and security methodologies and tools such as SonarQube, CheckMarx and DynaTrace
• Agile Project Management tools (JIRA) or equal is a plus
