Job description
The specialist, web developer support, under general supervision, performs moderately complex work with minimal decision-making discretion providing technical and customer support to the district and the internal technology team. Position is responsible for internal customer ticketing support, training webmasters, web development, and graphics. Employee performs district-level work to carry-out Board of Education policies under the direction of the Executive Director of Digital Platforms., * Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Manage and resolve incoming support requests through the ticketing system
- Answer support client calls, emails, and online chats regarding website troubleshooting, site updates, plugin updates, server/hosting issues, email creation, troubleshooting, etc.
- Assist with identifying the root cause of problems; manage and resolve issues
- Set up development environments and launch websites
- Assist our internal team with technical and training support
- Perform related work as assigned or required
Requirements
- Knowledge of SQL and developing web-based applications on Microsoft SQL Server
- Knowledge of JQuery/JavaScript
- Knowledge of computer programs including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- Skilled in developing web-based applications on the Microsoft SharePoint platform
- Skilled in designing web pages with HTML and CSS
- Skilled in developing web applications using ASP.NET (VB.NET)
- Skilled in troubleshooting web-based applications
- Skilled in Adobe Photoshop including creating and modifying images for use in web-based applications
- Skilled in graphic design to create visually appealing site layouts
- Skilled in problem-solving and critical thinking
- Skilled in time management skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, manage, and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframes
- Ability to develop web-based applications, deliver training, and support end users
- Ability to elicit and gather requirements
- Ability to pick up and master new technology
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, both verbally and in writing including electronic media
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders, * Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the technology field required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
