Job description

The role involves supporting, designing, deploying, and optimizing database solutions in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The engineer will work with various database technologies, leading migration efforts, developing reports, and ensuring operational excellence across critical manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities

  • Operational support of on-premises databases spanning equipment, process, and enterprise applications.
  • Develop and deploy high-availability database solutions in MS SQL for manufacturing applications.
  • Support and learn other database technologies such as Oracle and DB2.
  • Migrate legacy reporting solutions to a data mart and data warehouse model.
  • Design and implement advanced SQL procedures, views, and develop dynamic SSRS and Power BI reports.
  • Design, develop, and manage databases in coordination with application teams.
  • Create and maintain documentation for database activities, including architecture, security, and access.
  • Mentor team members on best practices for database queries and management.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues related to database workloads.
  • Facilitate technology stack evolution and workload migration from physical to virtual servers.
  • Collaborate with vendors to optimize database performance and fault tolerance.
  • Ensure 24/7 database monitoring and security compliance.
  • Participate in meetings with site and corporate teams to resolve database and application issues.
  • Work with security teams to maintain cyber security standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with MS SQL.
  • 5+ years of experience with database tuning.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL Server Management Studio.
  • 2+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting.
  • 1+ years of experience with ServiceNow or similar service management platforms.
  • Experience with data modeling and database design.
  • Proficiency in requirements-to-design translation and application integrated database engineering.
  • Strong SQL development, data architecture, and governance skills.
  • Experience with performance-driven design and greenfield builds.
  • Experience in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including documentation and automation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in information technology, computer science, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting IT/OT systems in manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of data protection, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Understanding of ITIL methodologies and change management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Experience with software development using C#, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and Visual Studio.
  • Background supporting MES applications and legacy technologies such as VB.NET and ASP.NET.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

The shift for this position is a standard onsite role with no travel involved, with some remote work permitted.
