Job description

  • Design, deploy, and maintain high-availability Microsoft SQL Server databases supporting manufacturing applications.
  • Support operational databases for manufacturing systems, MES, SCADA, Historian, and enterprise applications.
  • Perform advanced database tuning, optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop complex SQL stored procedures, functions, views, and database objects.
  • Design and implement SSRS and Power BI reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
  • Migrate legacy reporting systems to modern data warehouse and data mart architectures.
  • Support Oracle and DB2 databases as business needs require.
  • Perform database modeling, architecture, and application-integrated database engineering.
  • Develop PowerShell automation scripts for database administration and maintenance.
  • Maintain database security, user access, migrations, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Document database architecture, configurations, automation, and operational procedures.
  • Support 24/7 manufacturing operations by resolving critical database issues and outages.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, IT, and application teams to implement scalable database solutions.
  • Mentor team members on SQL development and database best practices.
  • Participate in software development lifecycle activities including requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment, and production support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of database tuning and performance optimization experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of PowerShell scripting experience.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or a comparable IT Service Management platform.
  • Strong experience with:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field required.
  • Advanced degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Semiconductor manufacturing experience (Front-End or Back-End).
  • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) support experience.
  • Experience with SCADA and Historian databases.
  • Experience with C#, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Python, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Experience with GitHub, Bitbucket, TFS, or similar source control systems.
  • Experience supporting VB, VB.NET, ASP.NET, or other legacy technologies.
  • Knowledge of ITIL methodologies.
  • Experience with data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting IT/OT environments.
  • Proven ability to lead through critical outages and complex production issues.
