The organisation is seeking an experienced NOC Operations Manager to lead its Network Operations Centre, oversee critical infrastructure services, and drive improvements across service delivery, resilience, and customer satisfaction. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, offering ownership of NOC operations, team development, and enterprise technologies across Microsoft and Cisco environments. - Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Centre
- Monitor network and infrastructure environments using NOC monitoring tools and dashboards
- Manage Linux, Windows Server and Windows 10/11 environments
- Administer VMware ESXi virtualised infrastructure
- Investigate, triage and resolve incidents across routing & switching, firewalls and WLAN technologies
- Support and troubleshoot Cisco networking environments
- Configure and maintain DNS, routing, firewalls, Keepalived and HAProxy
- Manage web services including Apache, NGINX and Squid
- Oversee Veeam backup, replication and disaster recovery
- Administer Microsoft Intune endpoint management
- Support HP server infrastructure and Apache Guacamole remote access
- Perform root cause analysis and produce incident reports
- Escalate complex incidents to 2nd and 3rd Line teams where required
- Ensure SLA compliance through effective incident management and customer communication
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, runbooks and operational procedures
- Drive continuous improvement across monitoring, automation and operational processes
- Participate in an on-call support rota
- Ensure infrastructure security, resilience and operational best practice
Requirements
Skills/Must Have:
- Experience within Operations, Infrastructure, Systems Engineering or Network Operations
- Previous experience leading or mentoring a technical operations or NOC team
- Expert knowledge of Linux, Windows Server and Windows 10/11
- Advanced VMware ESXi administration
- Strong networking knowledge including routing, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls and WLAN
- Hands-on experience supporting Cisco networking environments
- Experience with HAProxy, Keepalived and high availability solutions
- Experience with Veeam backup and disaster recovery
- Microsoft Intune administration
- Experience with Apache, NGINX and Squid
- Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and root cause analysis skills
- Scripting and automation experience
- Excellent communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, incident-driven environment
