Job description
You will join the Intelligent Service Performance team with a focus on Enterprise Tooling who are responsible for managing and maintaining a range of enterprise products that monitor and report the performance of the DepartmentÂ’s IT systems.
You will be directly responsible for the design, delivery and onboarding of our current Flexera FlexNet Management Suite (FNMS) installation as well as the detailed engineering and planning required to move this to the Flexera One SaaS platform. The responsibility further extends to the operational stability of our solutions and to improve the on-going robustness and resilience of this product.
You will have responsibility for maintenance and ownership of Flexera platform and deployment of agents required to collect the relevant Asset Management information as well as being responsible for Stakeholder Management of the DWP IT Asset Management function., * Design, deploy, support and continuously improve enterprise monitoring and asset management solutions that underpin critical DWP citizen-facing services.
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of agent-based data collection infrastructure across Windows, Linux, cloud and containerised environments, including AKS and EKS.
- Manage and support hybrid infrastructure estates, deploying and maintaining cloud-hosted solutions through both Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and platform management tools.
- Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for the Flexera Asset Management platform and wider tooling portfolio, ensuring services remain secure, resilient and high performing.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, service owners and engineering teams to ensure monitoring systems accurately capture and report key service and application metrics.
- Drive engineering best practice, providing guidance and assurance to teams to support the delivery of robust, scalable and high-quality technology solutions.
- Act as the technical escalation point for live service incidents, leading problem resolution activities and operating in line with ITIL Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
- Lead and develop engineers, supporting capability growth while ensuring the operational stability, performance and continuous improvement of the department’s infrastructure tooling services., * You will be asked to complete your employment history. Stage 2: Interview 1
If youÂ’re successful at sift stage you will be invited to a video interview via Microsoft Teams.
You will be asked to do a 10-minute presentation to further assess your experience. Your presentation should focus on the following:
- Describe how you have previously designed and deployed an agent based collection solution, across both On Premise and Cloud locations, including what functional and non-functional requirements affected your design. You should include details of the above in respect of the core infrastructure, integrations with other systems as well as agent deployment, testing and configuration across multiple network compartments.
These Interviews will take place from late August 2026. Interview dates to be confirmed.
Stage 3: Interview 2
If youÂ’re successful at stage 2 you will be invited to a video interview via Microsoft Teams. There, you will be assessed against the experiences listed in the essential criteria., * UK nationals

Requirements
Do you have experience of deploying and managing an Agent based data collection architecture spanning across an On Premise infrastructure and a Hybrid Public Cloud estate including experience of deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) alongside more traditional packaging methods for On Premise., Our Asset Management software, Flexera, is a central core to our ability to deliver cost effective services for the Department and we are looking for someone with the technical abilities, as well as stakeholder management skills, to join a small team to look after the current architecture. Asset Management skills would be advantageous to your application but not essential as training in the Flexera product suite can be provided. However, demonstrable experience in deploying an agent based collection architecture is essential., When giving details in your employment history and personal statement you should demonstrate your experience in line with essential criteria below:
- Evidence a strong track record in designing and delivering infrastructure services and solutions, working within a hybrid server estate including multiple Operating Systems such as Microsoft Windows Server, multiple Unix or Linux distributions and containerised platforms, to meet strategic plans and roadmaps.
- Demonstrate significant experience in providing specialist technical support and assistance to projects ensuring definition and delivery of requisite non-functional requirements to architectural and roadmap developments.
- Exhibit significant experience managing, supporting and mentoring the development of team members and consumers alike to successfully deliver high quality outcomes that meet the customersÂ’ needs and provides value for money.
- Be able to show significant demonstrable experience of using multiple scripting languages across different operating systems this must include agent deployment by Infrastructure as Code techniques.
- Demonstrate significant experience of effectively communicating at different levels, across support and engineering, business users, architecture and suppliers.
- Proven significant experience of designing, implementing and managing a hybrid On Premise and Public Cloud agent based collection architecture including agent rollout to multiple technologies including knowledge of Infrastructure as Code deployment techniques to the Departments platforms., You must meet the security requirements before you can be appointed. Hybrid Working
This role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work.

Salary Information
Pay for this role is from £57,946 to £73,205.
The maximum salary for the grade is £68,205, however a Digital Allowance of up to £5,000 per annum is available for exceptional candidates. Digital Allowance is non-salary, and non-pensionable, and is classed as a temporary allowance. It is reviewed annually where it could be retained, amended, or removed.
Our offer to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of your skills and experience as demonstrated at interview.
Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer will maintain their current substantive salary.
